Following my recent post on showing support for adding Perl to Google App Engine on their "Open Issues" list... many folks did just that. At the time of writing, over 240 additional votes were cast for Perl. Perl is now trailing Ruby by only 84 votes.

Even better, Stephen Adkins and David Sansome (among others) are working to revive the project!

If you'd like to help out, check out the project page.

If the fact that support for one of your favorite programming languages is still languishing behind the show of support for PHP and Ruby... Then recruit your friends, family, and local Perl Mongers to go to the Google App Engine "Open Issues" list, find issue #34 and click/activate the star beside it. (-Don't add comments, just click the star.)

[Update]
As of 8:39AM EST, Perl has surpassed Ruby and is now less than 500 votes behind PHP.
