PHP/Perl Web Server Programmer Needed– Work at Home

JOB SUMMARY: A small entrepreneurial company looking to develop innovative entertainment and information service applications for smartphones (iPhone, Blackberry, etc) as well as the accompanying server-side infrastructure. We are located in Orange County but employs a small highly motivated group of employees across Southern California. We are looking for a talented, self-starting mid-level software developer with PHP and Perl development experience along with sufficient knowledge and flexibility to tackle a wide range of software development projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop and maintain server-side software systems (using some combination of PHP/Perl and MySQL) to support mobile phone applications
• Provide developer support for various smartphone development projects

QUALIFICATIONS
• 5-10 years software development experience
• Strong server-side development experience in a Unix/Linux environment using PHP and Perl and MYSQL
• Experience with HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript
• Experience with wireless markup languages like WML and XHTML Mobile profile
• Strong problem solving skills and the ability to think outside the box.
• Ability to communicate openly, clearly, and concisely.
• Ability to both work independently and to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Accustomed to working in a highly dynamic, early stage environment.
• B.S. degree in Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, or similar discipline

EXTRA CREDIT
• Mobile development experience using iPhone, Blackberry, Android, J2ME, BREW
• Java programming experience (J2SE, J2EE, JSP, Servlets, JDBC)
• C/C++ programming experience

WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Employees work at home but should live within driving distance to Orange County, CA
• Employees typically meet onsite once per week for meetings and discussions
